Happy Summer!
To say I am excited to get back to work with my little friends is an extreme understatement. Soon! I am planning to have a little beach theme and this pineapple will be the fine motor craft. As usual, it can be adapted for a variety of developmental levels to address multiple motor skills.
Materials:
- Paper plate
- Yellow construction paper or tissue paper
- Green construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Brown marker
We cut a paper plate to make a pineapple shape, then traced a hand on green paper and cut it out to be the pineapple top.
Next, we cut yellow paper into long strips, then snipped them into small squares.
We glued the yellow squares on the paper plate and added brown dots as “seeds” for the pineapple.
For my younger friends (with a shorter attention span), I will have some pre-cut pineapples with toppers ready for them to decorate with paper. For little ones who are not yet cutting or snipping, I will have them tear strips of yellow construction paper or tissue paper.
There are plenty of ways this little pineapple can be adapted.
I hope your little ones have fun making it!
